I was born in 1981 in Innsbruck (Austria). In April, 2010, I got my diploma in biology at the University of Vienna, Department of animal biodiversity. My diploma thesis was conducted under collaboration of the Universities Vienna and Bogor (Indonesia) and focused on the ecology of shorebirds. Beside my study, I always tried to keep my qualifications and experiences in nature photography going, whereas some might say, it was the other way round mostly...
  • Stories
It's not just about doing photography, it's about embedding a message through photography. An exciting story that is told suspenseful is always the best way to arrest someone's attention. The stories I like to tell in my work deal about endangered species, the struggle of survival in the wilderness which has become a serious challenge for many creatures demanding on close interaction with their natural environment. Varying global habitats still keep lots of hidden secrets about the significant role of creatures within their living space, representing the ecological value of an environment.
  • Indonesia, "the diversified tropical archipelago state".
During my diploma thesis and further projects in Indonesia, I got touched by the incredible high biodiversity of primary rainforests. Indonesian rainforests represent unique and multifaceted environments, which are threatened by the nowadays highest deforestation rate worldwide which is still increasing. High numbers of inimitable endemic species, nowhere else found in the world, are facing extinction. Based on this situation, I feel motivated to focus a main part of my photographic work on wildlife issues concerning the Indonesian archipelago.
